Hateful words can hurt

Sticks and stones may break our bones, the old children’s rhyme reminds us, but words can never hurt us. Well, not exactly. If the history of the last century has taught us anything, it is that words can do more damage than sticks or stones.

Dealing with Hate Propaganda: The similarities between Nazi and Interahamwe

Discrimination and its promotion through hate propaganda disturb peace and can pave the way to massive human rights violations such as genocide. Hate propaganda is the public promotion or incitement of hatred against people and identifiable groups and that is likely to result in harm to those targeted.
