Following your publication of the article titled: “Magufuli: Chunga kila hatua ya Kagame” on July 7-13, 2016 by ‘Mohamed M’, I am very concerned that professional ethics and wisdom did not prevail before your weekly paper decide to publish it on paper and online. It is exactly one month today.
The said article’s content is full of hate and racist propaganda of which I am inclined to believe that you know are punishable by the laws of the United republic of Tanzania, specifically The Cybercrime Act, 2015 (Articles 18 & 19).
That aside, and which remain the competence of law enforcement, I am writing to demand to exercise my right of response in your newspaper by publishing the article hereto attached.
I am a Rwandan, and I feel targeted by the content of the said article. You will appreciate that there is no individual targeted by the vitriol in the article, as such, other than our collectivity by virtue of nationality and humanity.
Those of us who hate a genocidal ideology and are always willing and intent to fight back whenever and wherever it is manifested in any form!
I am looking forward to my response (Click here) being published in your next issue, preferably! You are allowed to publish it in a language of your choice—Kiswahili.
Your faithful reader,
