RWANDA: A Painted Cemetery?!

By Willis Shalita

In his most recent rambling, emotionally charged but childish statement, Theogene Rudasingwa, former Rwanda Ambassador to Washington, and now prominent member and supporter of FDLR, fugitive from justice, he compares  Rwanda to a painted cemetery — ” U RWANDA RUSIGAYE RUSA N’ IRIMBI RISIZE IRANGE.”

In all our lives, we say and do foolish things that may come to haunt us. Some we get over make amends, move on. However, this statement will follow Rudasingwa to his grave. And thereafter!

It is a statement that desecrates the very essence of us, as a people, and Rwanda, as a Nation. It is a statement that will live in infamy.

And how will he explain this to his children? Some things are better left un-said.

Agree or disagree with Kagame, but what drives a man to desecrate the honor and foundation of a Nation that you would use a euphemism like “painted cemetery?”

And Rudasingwa claims he has found God! Well, his God is NOT my God. Not the God that lifted us up from the ashes and blood streams of 1994. I have said it before, and I will say it again: Rwanda is bigger than all of us, and whoever desecrates her integrity, offends that very essence that makes us who we are, deserves no place among us.

I am not a theologian. But some sins are not forgivable.
